Abstract

This paper seeks to provide a different perspective on the life of Dona Rosa Campusano Cornejo, guayaquileña lady, known for the alleged affair she had with the General Jose de San Martin while he was in Lima.
Based on a biographical study of very low diffusion and the testament published there, we want to focus her life considering prejudices, conventions and constraints of their time. It reflects on the forgetfulness that Peruvian historiography usually has about the role of women in the emancipatory process and generally in all national historical processes.
