Abstract

A list of 858 wills of individuals with indigenous surnames, existing in the Notaries’ Section of the Regional Archive of Cajamarca (ARCaj), is published. It includes men and women who registered their last wills (and related documents) before Cajamarca notaries along three centuries. The listwas taken from a note-card data-base held at the ARCaj, originally produced by personnel from Peru’s National Archive around 1980. This data-base includes other wills from non-indigenous people. The great wealth of information existing in this provincial archive is thus shown.
