Intellectuals, thought and society at the beginning of the 20th century: the case of El Deber Pro-Indígena (Lima, 1912-1917)
Abstract
The aim of this article is to study the newsletter El Deber Pro-Indígena, approaching the thought of the intellectuals who participated as authors in the various articles published in the period 1912-1917. Likewise, we stop at an outline of their thought, highlighting the reflection that aims to base a critical look at the environment of Peruvian society and reality. The philosophy implicit in the social gaze originates a series of actions that promote human vindication and propose a return to national and cultural identity. Finally, we give explain the organization process of the editorial committee, the policies and goals that they followed.
