Abstract

The Chinese migrants who arrived in Lima in the mid-19th century participated in all the economic and social activities of the city; however, the production of historical sources on these activities is scarce. This article presents some public deeds from the Notarial Protocols fund of Archivo General de la Nación to describe the participation of the Chinese in the dynamics of the city and to reflect on the potential of this source, as well as its limitations.
