Native people of Lunahuaná and Cañete living in Lima in 1613

Abstract

This is a study about migrants from mid and low Cañete valley to the city of Lima in early colonial times. The 1613’s ‘Padrón de los indios de Lima’ includes them, providing valuable information on their general conditions of living, their social and economic status and the kind of families that they constitute. We remark also some directions of research from the information arisen from this document.
